Anterior/Cranial Cruciate Ligament (ACL, CCL) Repair
A surgical procedure commonly performed on dogs with torn knee ligaments, especially active or large breeds, like Labrador Retrievers, Staffordshire Terriers, and Rottweilers. The Anterior Cruciate Ligament, known as the Cranial Cruciate Ligament in dogs, stabilizes the knee, and a tear can cause pain and lameness. Stabilizing the knee helps pets regain mobility and alleviates discomfort. We offer both the Lateral Suture and TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) techniques to restore stability and function to the affected joint.

Adrenalectomy
The surgical removal of an adrenal gland, often due to tumors like adrenal adenomas or carcinomas. This procedure is typically performed to prevent hormone-related issues and systemic complications, offering pets a chance at a healthy life post-surgery.

Amputation (Digits, Tails, Limbs)
Amputation may be required when an injury or disease, such as cancer or severe trauma, renders a body part unsalvageable. Surgically removing the affected area relieves pain, prevents further complications, and can significantly enhance a pet’s quality of life.

Anal Gland Ablation
A surgical procedure to remove anal glands, usually due to recurrent infections, abscesses, or severe inflammation, but even for those patients who “make too much too often.” This can prevent ongoing infections and discomfort, particularly in dogs with chronic gland issues.

Cesarean Section (C-section)
A surgical delivery method for pets in need of assistance during labor, either as a planned or emergency procedure. It ensures safe birthing outcomes for both mothers and their offspring.

Cherry Eye (Prolapsed Gland of the Nictitans)
Surgical correction of a prolapsed gland in the third eyelid, commonly seen in certain dog breeds. This procedure restores the gland to its original position, aiding in proper eye lubrication and reducing irritation.

Cholecystectomy (Gall Bladder Removal)
The removal of the gall bladder due to disease, obstruction, or chronic inflammation. This surgery addresses underlying conditions like cholecystitis and helps prevent severe health complications.

Cryptorchidectomy (Cryptorchid)
The removal of undescended testicles located in the abdomen or inguinal canal. This procedure prevents potential complications, including testicular cancer and behavioral issues.

Cystotomy
A surgical procedure to remove bladder stones, clots, or tumors. It helps alleviate urinary discomfort and prevents future complications, such as blockages or infections.

Distichia Removal
Surgery to remove extra eyelashes that grow abnormally and irritate the eye. This procedure helps prevent discomfort, tearing, and potential corneal ulcers.

Entropion Correction
A corrective surgery for inward-turning eyelids, commonly seen in specific breeds. This procedure alleviates discomfort and prevents corneal irritation and potential damage.

Enucleation
The surgical removal of an eye due to severe disease or irreparable injury. Enucleation prevents further pain and allows pets to adapt and thrive despite vision loss.

Exploratory Surgery
A diagnostic procedure to investigate abdominal or other internal issues that cannot be identified through imaging alone. It provides answers and a clear path for treatment.

Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO)
A surgical removal of the femur head, often performed to relieve pain from hip dysplasia or fractures. This procedure restores mobility and reduces pain in affected pets.

Fracture Repair
Using pins or plates, this surgery stabilizes and repairs broken bones, promoting proper healing and restoring functionality in injured pets.

Gastropexy
A preventative procedure to attach the stomach to the abdominal wall in large-breed dogs, reducing the risk of gastric torsion (GDV), a life-threatening condition which occurs secondary to bloat.

Gastric Dilatation Volvulus (GDV)
A life-saving surgery that untwists the stomach in cases of bloat, restoring blood flow and preventing further complications, often in deep-chested dog breeds.

Herniorrhaphy
Repair of hernias, including umbilical, inguinal, perineal, or diaphragmatic hernias, to prevent internal organs from protruding through weak abdominal walls.

Laceration Repair
A procedure to clean, close, and treat deep cuts, reducing infection risks and promoting healing, especially in traumatic injury cases.

Lateral Ear Canal Resection
A surgical option for pets with chronic ear infections, designed to widen the ear canal for better airflow and reduced infection recurrence.

Liver Lobectomy
The removal of a section of the liver, typically due to tumors. It can enhance a pet’s lifespan and health when liver conditions are present.

Luxation Reduction
This procedure realigns dislocated joints, like the hip or elbow, and restores joint function, helping pets regain mobility and comfort.

Mandibulectomy
Partial removal of the lower jaw to treat tumors. This surgery prevents cancer from spreading, allowing pets to eat and drink comfortably.

Mass Removal
Surgical excision of abnormal tissue growths, including tumors, preventing complications and often offering pets a better prognosis.

Nare-Plasty and Palate/Nares/Saccule Correction
Brachycephalic breeds like bulldogs and pugs often experience issues such as an elongated soft palate, everted laryngeal saccules, and narrowed nostrils (stenotic nares). Surgical correction of these areas to improve airflow can significantly enhance both the quality and lifespan of these breeds. Nare-Plasty is a procedure to widen the nostrils in brachycephalic breeds with restricted airflow, like pugs and bulldogs, which improves breathing and reduces snoring.  This procedure is always done in combination with palate shortening.

Nephrectomy
Surgical removal of a kidney due to severe infection or cancer, improving health outcomes, and managing pain in affected pets.

Neutering
Removal of testicles in male pets to prevent reproduction and reduce the risk of certain cancers and behavioral issues.

Oral Surgery (including tooth extraction)
Surgical removal of masses from the gums or tongue are performed, typically in combination with a cleaning of the teeth to allow for proper oral healing. Removal of damaged or infected teeth, relieving pain and preventing further oral complications. Oral health is important for longevity.

Osteochondritis Dissecans (OCD) Repair
Surgical treatment to repair a weak area in the bone beneath the articular cartilage, commonly found in dogs’ knee or shoulder joints.

Patellar Luxation Repair
Corrective surgery to stabilize a dislocated kneecap, helping restore mobility and reducing lameness in affected dogs.

Prostatic Cyst Removal
Treatment for fluid-filled cysts in the prostate, common in older male dogs, which relieves discomfort and reduces urinary issues.

Perineal Urethrostomy (PU)
A procedure to widen the urethra in male cats with recurrent urinary blockages, often life-saving and improves quality of life.

Pyometra Surgery
Emergency removal of an infected uterus in unspayed female dogs, saving lives and preventing systemic infection.

Salivary Mucocele Repair
The removal of a damaged salivary gland to treat fluid buildup, reducing pain and preventing further complications in affected pets.

Scrolled Cartilage Repair
Surgical correction of malformed third eyelid cartilage, preventing irritation and restoring eye function in affected pets.

Portosystemic Shunt Repair
Corrects abnormal blood flow that bypasses the liver, restoring normal liver function and preventing neurological issues in affected breeds like Yorkshire Terriers.

Spaying (Ovariohysterectomy)
The removal of ovaries and uterus to prevent pregnancies and reduce risks of uterine infections and certain cancers in female pets.

Splenectomy
The removal of the spleen, usually due to tumors, to prevent ruptures and other life-threatening complications.

Stifle Exploratory Surgery
A diagnostic procedure to investigate knee joint issues, enabling targeted treatment for mobility restoration.

Tibial Crest Avulsion Repair
A procedure to correct tibial crest fractures in young dogs, preventing future lameness and joint issues.
